Visiting an external academic institution: University of Basel (External Organization)

As part of a three-month research stay abroad, Ehsan joined the High-Performance Computing (HPC) Research Team at the University of Basel, Switzerland, under the supervision of Prof. Florina Ciorba. During this period, he laid the foundation for his PhD thesis by gaining both fundamental and advanced knowledge in scheduling and resource management from one of the leading groups in the HPC field.

While working within this vibrant research environment, Ehsan also developed an interest in the computational costs of privacy-preserving techniques applied to deep learning models. This led to a collaborative project with a PhD student from the University of Basel, exploring the trade-offs between privacy guarantees and computational efficiency in deep learning.
